Can anyone reccomend any good comics/ g.ns for a newbie?

I've just started getting into comics recently and was hoping that someone with more comic/ graphic novel experience could reccomend any really good or can't miss comic books or graphic novels? I've read a few common ones like Watchmen, V for Vendetta, a few Batman, etc. but I was hoping someone could reccomend some obscure gems or something? Responses are much appreciated
