can i add songs onto the voyager from itunes without it costing anything from vcast?

i just got the voyager and i want to put some of my itunes songs on it and i was wondering if it will cost anything from vcast. someone told me when you download the cd and it gets to the part where it asks for your cell number you just ignore it and then songs will go onto your fone and vcast wont charge you.
