Can i attach a Sata DVD burner to a Sata 2 and 3 compatible motherboard?

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 with a Sata 3 Hard drive.

Can i attach a Sata DVD burner such as this http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=5580 to it or do i have to find a Sata 2 / 3 DVD burner?
