toshiba satellite psaa8a Duo 1.73GHz, 512

I have reformatted the hard drive and put the recovery DVD-Rom back on.
when I did that so Meany time it will freeze up if I don't put memory card in the sd slot when I boot up and in the windows xp thy is that ?
is this a security fetcher for the laptop.
Can same one please let me no?
Does it came with a dummy card reader as I am fixings the laptop for my brother.
It work good when the SD Car Reader in.
 
READYBOOST must be enabled.Its a feature to use real memory for disk cahing (virtual memory).
You can disable it in control panel or type readyboost in search
