Can I get rid of the rogers logo over my phone wallpaper?

I got a Samsung GT and I have a really nice wallpaper, but I hate the Rogers logo over it at the top. The clock and bars at the top I can live with, but I don't like to the bright white letters over it (it's black, a Justice album cover). I don't know if I can get rid of it, and it's pretty doubtful, but can I make is disappear somehow? My cousin's phone has a different banner at the top, with a customized message, instead of the logo it started with, so can I change it or make it disappear?
