Can i put a jeep cherokee 4.0l motor and tranny in a bug with little modification?

im looking to put a powerfull motor in my baja bug with little modification i wanted to put my 400 in it but thats alot of modification.. What is the biggest motor i can put in a vw bug with little modification?
