I heard that these older celica's are equipped with a W58 5 speed transmission. I want to know will this tranny be good on a 1982-1987 toyota cressida auto to 5 speed swap? Has it been done? I know that a W58 is a W58 no matter what. Need a summer project. Any info will be appreciated.

It starts normal then you put it in drive and take off it'll go 15 to 20 feet but when it reaches two grand or wants to shift it stops moving and just revs up. You can put it in park and start all over but continues to do same thing. Please help me? Thank You.
