Can i read the Gossip Girl prequel when I'm not done the series?

Should I read the whole series and then the prequel or can I read it in between? Thanks

I stopped halfway and read the Prequel.
I highly recommend it! It doesn't mess up the series and was my favorite out of all of them

i've just started the series. but my friend whose read them all says to wait and read it when it was written. not first or last but between the actual books she wrote it. if that makes sense!!
