A few years ago I started thinking more about religion and the one that many of my friends were was Christianity. I jumped on the bandwagon and spent my time learning about this religion. I also bought several Bibles and attended Bible study on the weekend. After a while though I found a lot of the Jesus stuff hard to swallow and my favorite part of the Bible was the Old Testament. I ended up looking into Judaism just to see what it was all about and found I agree with a lot of the basic principles.
My question is, can I read the Old Testament of my Bibles that I have (which contain the books of the Torah and other Jewish Holy writings) to study more about how G-d wants Jews to live? I'm not ready to make a full commitment yet and there are no synagogues within three hours drive from me so can I just use what I already have to understand more? Thanks!
If you are going to comment about how I need to accept Jesus, please don't bother since that is not why I asked this question.
