Can I run a server 24/7?

Hi, I have. MacBook Pro and want to run a minecraft server 24/7. The only time I'm worried about it is when I am at school because it is unplugged. I do shut it down throughout the day and let the CPU cool down. Will the battery and server be able to last 6 hours (awake, with the screen dimmed?
 
cpu staying cool should not be an issue as long as u don't set it on a bed.

however, 6 hrs on batt - probably not..........
