Can I take a car in a tow truck to get it painted?

I have a Eclipse that's been in my garage for a little over a year. I decided to go ahead and sell it. I haven't moved it at all so it doesn't have registration or insurance. I want to take it to get painted though. Do you guys know if they care if I show up with the car in a tow truck to get it painted? Since I can't move the car without risking getting tickets - which I obviously don't want.

I guess Joseph didn't understand the question. It is quite common to tow a vehicle to a paint shop. When properly readied the vehicle would not be street legal. The lights, turn signals bumpers and such are removed.

Why does everybody always want to repaint their cars?

How about a nice wax job and protectant of the paint?

Do people still wax their cars?

no, they will not care if it is brought in on a hook. they don't have a need to drive it on the roads. as long as they can start it and drive it on the lot, you're good to go. I commend you on actually wanting to do the right thing and have it towed instead of driving it. You get a gold star!!
