I broke the screen on my HP Pavilion dv3t-2000- I'm a broke student and I really can't afford another laptop or even to fix it. I do have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4547 that doesn't really work but the screen is fine. Can I play Dr. Frankenstein and take all the good stuff out of the HP and put it into the Toshiba? I

yes. Just take out the hard drive, get a casing for it with a usb connector and connect it to the new one. Dont have to move just use it as an external hard drive - simple!

PS - an alternative to your screen issue is by hooking it up to a tv as a monitor, although this isnt helpful if you need to take it places but if using it as a desktop (stationary) its a way.
