I live opposite a primary school and everyday parents park their cars in the worst of places; blocking lay-bys, people's driveways, other peoples cars, opposite junctions, on the junction... pretty much everywhere.
I realise I'm probably a bit more annoyed than I should be but I'm getting really sick of it. Today there was a performance at the school and these cars were parked all over the place for several hours. So can I take pictures of these cars and post them on my facebook account? There aren't any people in them and you can't see the number plates so I'm assuming I'm alright but I don't want to do something illegal ;)
Thanks in advance!
Excellent! Thank you.
The police have been told about it but all they did was use the school to send out a letter with a warning. This was several months ago and nothing has happened since. That said, I'm not stopping with facebook this is just phase one ;)

Yeah. Technically you should be able to take a picture of just about anything that is in the public eye and post it anywhere that you want. You might want to be careful though about anything too identifying, like a licence plate.

Cars parked in public have no expectations of privacy.

But while Facebook may come to mind, take copies of the pictures that clearly show blocking of access lanes, and take then to a school board meeting or your local police district, and request enforcement of the ordinances.

I have been quite vocal over illegal parking and taken the matters to both the township and the school board, and changes have been made. Of course they know they can't put me off, and I won't go away.
