Can I use a BlackBerry on a normal pay monthly plan with internet?

Do I have to get a Blackberry Data Plan if I want to buy a Blackberry? Can I just get a normal pay-per-month plan that has unlimited internet?
 
the only way to get unlimited internet is to have a data pack otherwise you have to pay for air time and trust me you dont want to see a phone bill with air time minutes charged to it i did that once and had a $500 bill
and since you have a blackberry you have to have internet so you will want the data pack
