I have a spare pair of battery jumper cables and some thick RCA cables with a remote turnon wire. Do I really need to buy a whole amp wiring kit for my 370 watt dual 2 channel amp or can I just butcher my battery jumper cables and maybe throw a fuse in there? The wires seem well shielded enough and they won't have massive ammounts of power thrown through them and will be routed opposite the RCA cables. What is really the difference between normal, say 10 or 8 gauge jumper wires and amplifier wires?
