Is JR line inside kyoto useful for sightseeing ? Or shall I purchase 2 day Kyoto travellers card?

These are not JR line and not covered by JR Pass. But you can use the Pass for JR lines in Kyoto.

There are not so many JR lines in Kyoyo. So you have to buy the 2 day card or ticket for each ride.
