ok im going to california this saturday im 15 and i was wondering cause airplane mode cant u like use that on the airplane? cause when they say turn ur fone off now once the flight starts cant u just use airplane mode? cuz i have a mp3 on my fone and i really wanna listen to that on my way.. so what?

That's what airplane mode is for. You can use your phone in airplane mode once the cabin crew or the captain announces it's okay or usually when the seat belt sign is turned off. Some airlines also offer wifi these days, in which case you may be able to use your phone for applications other than just the mp3 player if you choose to pay for the service. Otherwise, you can almost always use your phone in airplane mode except during take-offs and landings when all electronics must be turned off.

Yeah, but you'll need to turn it off during takeoff, landing and any other time they say so.
