Some states do NOT allow tip pooling with cooks, unless the cooks are actually serving customers (e.g. tableside dishes, etc.) Look up the department of labor in your state, and see what they say about tip pooling. Good luck.

As long as your hourly wage plus the tips you are allowed to keep are above minimum wage, there is not anything you can do. The employer can require you to split tips with others.

Businesses can usually assign payment however they like subject to various employment laws.

Your best bet is to be nice to your boss, but find a different job and then ask him to be a reference (that will really eat him/her up ).
