My mouse has some paper to chew on. She also has a wood chew. Is it safe for them to chew on the paper if it has no ink? I never give her paper with ink on it, only plain white paper. She loves to chew on paper.
I used to raise mice. Paper is fine. Toss in a cardboard roll from used roll of toilet paper or paper towels etc. Watch the fun. Make sure you toss out the old paper after a few days, as it gets soiled with the rest of the bedding.
