Can PS3s really use any BlueTooth as a Headset?

My friend told me that after my regular one broke (don't know how, everything dropped in pitch and I can't speak into it), but can I use any Bluetooth, or just the official Headset or any or headset I see at Best Buy?
 
as long as you have the code for the blue tooth you can hook it up to the ps3. Go into accessories and then go to register blue tooth
 
Any Bluetooth headset works on the PS3, as long as you know how to put the headset into Pairing Mode.

If you don't know how to put the headset into Pairing Mode, you will need to look in the Owner's Manual or search online. Every headset is different, so I can't give you the directions on how to put a headset into Pairing Mode.

Also, if the headset is Paired with other devices (such as a cell phone), make sure the device (cell phone, etc) is turned off or Unpaired, or you will have a problem trying to Pair the headset to the PS3.
