Let me preface this by explaining the circumstances under which I was falling asleep: It was one in the morning, I was already extremely tired (I usually go to sleep around ten), and I had taken a few sleeping pills and muscle relaxants (30 mg of baclofen and 6 mg of melatonin).
I lay down and it's hard getting asleep, so I imagine myself being in different places, different scenarios. Then, the muscle relaxants and sleep aids started kicking in while I was imagining myself being in an empty room made out of stone.
Here's where the weird shit I can't explain happens: all the sudden, my eyes start vibrating completely out of my control underneath my eyelids. This is happening so fast and hard that it's almost painful. I try to keep them closed but for some reason this is really hard at this point. Then, I feel my sense of consciousness melting away from my room into some sort of intermediate zone like I was asleep, where things didn't quite feel like they were real, but were still very realistic. I was still extremely aware of what was happening, though. Finally, the exact room I was imagining started appearing around me, yet still under my eyelids. At this point, I felt that if I held onto whatever was happening any longer, I could have opened my eyes underneath my eyelids, as in open them while they were still closed, and I would have been in that other "world".
It freaked me the fuck out. I opened my eyes wide awake yet still felt this residual feeling of, what if this isn't really "real"? And thought my real room might still be like that dream. It happened one or two more times with different scenarios, albeit not as strongly. Either way, can someone explain what the hell happened?
As a side note, I'm not under the influence of any other drugs, nor do I have any mental disorders that I know of.
