I am working on my first novel in which the main character is me in different name. is it normal? what is the risk
 
It's extremely common, especially for people just starting to write.

I'm afraid it's rarely done well. I recommend you Google "Mary Sue" and also "self-insert".
 
Yes, that's perfectly fine...a little odd but fine. There's no risk involved and I think a story like that would be called an autobiography or something along those lines.
