I'm really ugly, but my dreams to be an actress. These days the girls in the acting industry all look the same tbh... And I'm completly different. I'm ugly for starters and to top that off I'm not white, I'm brown. Will I be taken seriously?

Besides the fact that many actors, etc., wear a lot of make-up, it's yor talent that wins in the end -- not your looks. Actually, if you look again you'll see plenty of homely famous folks.

You'll be fine. Don't worry... if you got skill, they'll put make up on you and make you look totally different.

Answer to your bold question: look at Lady Gaga.

Looks are important, but if you are good at acting, and willing to work hard and knock on many doors, yes you can make it.We have many beauties out there, but not as much talent.Good luck..

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it's not just a cliche statement! Never give up on your dreams, because being a good artist takes both passion and talent, which are both far more important than how you look! It's true, being a television actress often requires being good-looking, but being "good-looking" is hardly ever about how you look like when you look naturally, but knowing how to present yourself well. There are millions of youtube videos about how to do your hair and make-up in interesting ways. Basically, you may think you're ugly, but it's all in how you percieve yourself.

YES Janis Joplin did... HAVE talent and find a way to get it out in the open

YES! People thought susan boyle can't sing because she looked ugly. She proved them wrong.
At the same time even a very good looking man/woman can have a bad singing voice.

Don't judge a book by it's cover.
