Can you OBJECTIVELY explain to me why Congress is investigating steroids...

...and MLB Baseball? The infrastructure is crumbling, we're at war, we're approaching a depression, etc etc and Congress is investigating a "game" that miilionaires run around in tights throwing a ball? I just can't wrap my mind around this. How can they objectively justify the time, energy, and money by getting involved in this frivolous nonsense?

Yeah, it's a waste of time.

But keep in mind that this isn't the only thing Congress is devoting its energy to. It isn't the entire Congress that carried out these hearings: it was just a Congressional committee. Congress is made up of 435 representatives and 100 senators, but most of its work is done by committees of 20 or so members.

Rest assured that there are plenty of committees spending their time on infrastructure, war, economics, etc. They may not be reaching any actual agreements. But they are constantly working on those things.

By the way, baseball players don't wear tights. They wear baggy uniform pants.

Objectively, congress loves to get involved in things that give them publicity and on T.V.

Other than that Baseball should clean up it's own mess.

But remember, Clemens and Bonds would not go to trial if they were not accused of lying before congress.
