Can you unlock a Sprint phone to work for T-Mobile ?

My friend wants to give me her Blackberry 8530 from Sprint but I have T-Mobile , Can it be unlocked to work for T-Mobile ? Can I unlock it myself or do I have to pay someone to do it ?

No, T-Mobile uses a GSM network while Sprint uses CDMA you could use the T-Mobile phone on At&t however but not on Verizon/Sprint.
Verizon/Sprint can be used interchangeably and T-Mobile and At&t can as well.
Verizon/Sprint wont change with any phone on T-Mobile or At&t or vice versa.

Hello all,

I found a deal on a Galaxy S3 and went for it. Soon, very soon I found the coverage is well below par. Galaxy 3s have always been at the top of my list of favorite phones. I don't know what to do on this one. If its not compatible with another provider than I will have to but another phone. I am recovering from a full hip replacement and just got bacl to the states so I really don't have the money to spend. I do have like 3 G3s ( including the sprint G3 less than a month old, also a Motorola smart something. I would love to find another carrier that my sprint phone would work for.
Suggestions??
