Capture still picture while playing a dvd on my laptop.....?

I have a Del Inspiron 1525.
Wheen I first got it a couple of years ago I managed to capture a still shot from a dvd I was watching.
I actually have no idea how I did this now!!??
Recently I have copied my families old 8mm home movies on to disc and would love to capture some still shots again.....
Any ideas please?

On your keyboard there should be a button that says Prnt Scrn. Just press that button, and it copies an image of your screen. Then just go into Paint of Photoshop or something and hit paste. If it doesn't work then you might have to press the funtion key(Fn) while pressing Prnt Scrn.

with vlc go in view and advanced when you watch a film you will be able to click a picture of a Camera and will take a still.

If you press the print screen, PrtScrn, button when the image that you want to copy appears on your screen. Then open Word and press paste. You can then resize the image and get rid of anything that you don't want on the picture by using crop and resize. You willl need to do this as everything that appears on your screen will be reproduced in the image. Good Luck, Ralph
