I have a DXI Polk audio bass system and a 1000 watt amp, I was driving home one day and all of a sudden it just stop working at the volume of 20 which is what I usually put it at, the bass works fine if I turn it to 10 though, but if I exceed 10 the bass stops working. Any idea what's wrong?? (I've made sure everything was wired up) can someone tell me if I blew my amps or something ?

If the bass sounds ok when it does play, but just cuts out temporarily then comes back on then it sounds like your amplifier is going into protect mode. You may be able to tell if it is by looking to make sure the amp is still powered on then look for a LED light that may be red and labeled, indicating that it is in protect mode. One thing that can cause it is the amplifier overheating. If you play it hard for a long period of time or maybe on a hot day for a short period of time then it will cause it to do this to keep it from burning up. Once it cools down, it will turn back on. You could also have damaged voice coils that could be changing the ohm load that the amp is receiving. This will also cause the amp to run hot and shut down.
