I want to what I can buy for my car so that i can have a better audio system. So far, I have nothing special with my car,, i just have it as is. I want to have a loud bass and want to actually hear the words of the song. I wanna be loud but not so loud that my trunk rattles and makes me sound like shit. I have no idea what to get, or what anything is. I don't want to pay out the ass for a good audio system. So if you could tell me what my options are, that would be great. Thanks

Taylor your funny, a pair of JL W3's ( I do not care what size they are) are not going to make the vocals inaudible at all, not even close to that either. Everything JL makes is over ratted.

Your going to want to upgrade the entire audio system to have it sounding good. Stereo, all interior speakers, 4 channel amp, sub, sub amp and sub enclosure. Since you want a good sub, but not all the rattling going on, the I would suggest that you go with 1 Kicker CVX sub, it is 750 watts rms. Wire that to a Kicker ZX750.1 and your in business. Stereo, go with Alpine, the look into Polk Audio 6.5" component speakers. Then a MTX TC4004 to run the 6.5" speakers.

u didnt give the model of ur car. i have been poor all my life so i havent always had the money to buy expensive stereo equipment. i can tell u from over 20 yrs exp. that u dont need the best stuff.
i would go to say, wal-mart, (the best place for on-the-cheap, but still decent stuff), like sony explode. not bad quality. u really want a deck with a set of sub-out RCA jacks on it for ur subs. if u only care about it sounding good in the car and not to ur friends in the next county, then i would suggest a pair of sony 10", from wal-mart and their sony 1000 watt amp. even with this set up, it will turn heads when u pull up! i know this for a fact cause i have had the same set up with a factory deck, with wires coming from one factory speaker, going into a legacy crossover. it rocks!!! u should look at all the decks, as each one has its own set of features. find the one that best suits what u want.
u will need to play with the settings on the amp to best suit what u wanna hear. with this set up i should only need to turn the gain about half way up. i had a crossover so that made a big diff. the crossover also had bass boost on it so that helped.
as far as the rest of the speakers, just find what will fit your car, sony or pioneer, cause any upgrade over factory is gonna sound pretty good. i would hook them to the deck. the deck has plenty of power, and u already have all the wires run. all u need is a connector, also at wal-mart, and splice it on to the deck and plug it in. even your factory one would sound fair with just a new deck. they just wont last with high vol levels all the time.
the sony decks have many settings for high, mid, and low freq. so u will have to play around with the setting here also along with the amp. the deck settings will affect ur subs also. it can be an overwhelming task playing with all the settings, but in the end it will sound good. when playing with the settings, with new subs, amp, and deck, i would set amp about 1/4 gain, and LPF on lowest setting. now play with your deck till u get highs and mids to where it sounds good to u. also during this process, i would listen to various types of music, till u get an allaround good sound. then play with the gain on the amp.
if u have any othe ? just e-mail me.

well I got a jeep grand cherokee and i'm packing jl audio13w3's and they thump... and rattle...and make lyrics completely inaudible... But that's what I like... If your just looking for a little bit of bass nothing to crazy Id say 2 Jl audio 10w3's which are pretty affordable and a kx600.1 watt amp. they'll get as loud as you want them to and sound unbelivably clean
