terminal.)? I also replaced only 1 back tire because it had 2 nails in it... I still have to get the other back tire, it is almost bald.
I have a 01' mitsubishi eclipse. About 1 & 1/2 weeks ago I had an amplifier and subwoofer installed. I already had a deck installed so I did not touch any of those wires. When I had the audio system installed, we noticed that the battery terminal was corroded, so I also replaced that. About 2 nights ago, I was getting on the highway on the way home from work. Once I hit between 55-60 mph, the car started shaking. However, once I hit about 65, the shaking stops. This has happened every time I get on the highway since then, and always at the same speed. It also goes away every time once I hit about 65. What could be causing this to happen? Could it have anything to do with the new battery terminal??

You need your wheels balancing - easy and cheap thy put it on a rolling machine and flash a strobe light at the wheel - then they correct it with small lead weights.

This is called critical speed which can be altered by mostly worn suspension parts and under-inflated or worn tires. Every car driving on a steel deck bridge, for instance, vibrates at a different frequency at a different speed; so if you keep going at that speed your car will shake itself apart. This is the reason why soldiers are ordered to not march on bridges because each person hitting a foot at the same time may actually break the bridge. On old steam ships when coming up to speed they create a harmonic shaking would occurs at a given rpm of the propeller which the engineers would try to pass through quickly because it was speed sensitive. First, check the tires sometimes more air in the right front tire will help and a little less air in the rear tires to give a little more drag. your new 200 watt sound system will shake your nuts loose.

There suspension is out of alignment or has warn parts. Tie rod ends only have so much available adjustment before they have to be replaced.

It may only need a $50 alignment.
