I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. The day after christmas I went to walmart, bought a head unit, and installed it. Didn't work. Re-installed factory car stereo. Didn't work. Installed a factory head unit from my previous grand prix I had lying around, didn't work again. Checked all fuses and power wires voltages. I have a yellow wire (I believe this is my accessory switched) and it had 12 volts. No other wire had 12 volts coming into it. I know obviously the speakers wires wouldn't...but i read online my orange wire that is my constant battery wire should have 12 volts also. but thijs wire has nothing. What do I do from here?
The radio accessory and radio sw(not sure what sw is) are on the drivers side. i havent thought of checking fuses on the other side. Didn't find anything that could possibly related to the radio under the hood for fuses. Saw the cigar lighter fuse under the hood but no radio.
found fuse on passengers side like you said, it was blown. replaced it. RADIO WORKS!! thanks!!! now where did i put that silly lock code for my stereo? haha.
