hahahaha. No, I am not from Ipanema I am from São Paulo, but leaving in the U.S.A because a lucky American married me...just kidding. ;)

I know that you can recycle the batteries at retail stores sometimes. Best Buy for sure has one. They usually have the bin right next to the exit door. I recycle all of my old batteries there. Hope this helps.

Local cell phone providers will take them
for example every Rogers (canada) will take take old cell phones and batteries

Any cellphone store will take them, regardless of brand.

Ahhhh! (That's for your screen name. 8^) Are you from Ipanema?)

Radio Shack and similar places often have recycling boxes just for things like batteries.

many of the electronics stores like RadioShack and Bust Buy have recycling programs often that let you turn them into the stores.
You local government may also have a program to recycle them

You can send them to a local hazardous waste plant along with all your other batteries.

There is also a site called http://www.recellular.com/ that takes old cellphones and recycles the dangerous materials properly. however, I'm not 100% if they take just the battery or not.

bestbuy or request an envelope from t-mobile, it's free, you dont have to pay S&H
