Cellphone service on a cruise in Bahamas?? Help!?

My boyfriend left for a few days for work.. He's working on a cruise ship in the Bahamas... It's not a cruise ship with passengers.. It's just the work crew. (renovating the ship).. The last I heard from him was yesterday around 7pm.. He said "we are about to lose service"...

Anyone ever deal with a situation like this??? It's so hard!!! I'm a nervous wreck!!! On the verge of panic attacks!!! He has metro pcs phone if that matters.

Advice??! He's supposed to b back Wednesday or Thursday.

The Bahamas is a different country than America. They use a totally different cell phone service that renders your phone useless unless you're on the Bahamas plan.
He probably won't have service until back in America.
