Changing what I want to do career wise in the future? How to tell my parents?

Ok well over the summer I went to a pre-college program in Sarasota, Florida for the Ringling College Of Art And Design. And my parents spent like $5000 for it and told me that it would show me if I really wanted to do that for a living (I don't know if they meant do animation as a profession or the whole "art" thing as a profession). Anyways I had fun there..but I found out I don't want to do animation but now I'm not sure I want to do art at all. It seems more of a hobby and whenever I do it for a project or something..it just looses my interest. But how would I go about telling my parents that I don't want to do this as a career instead. I would rather go over to Japan and teach children english.

Look for a college program in something called New Media. This will give you classes in art (in case you change your mind) but also ones in communication, that would also apply to an English teaching degree. You can either continue in this or branch off to teaching or animation after 1 year or 2 in college. Plus you'll basically be looking into new technologies - like being on here.
