In their day, they were the most famous college football players in the land. Before their day, they were high schoolers, just like you used to be. Recognize the three famous cats in the photos above? (If you don't get the middle one, you might need to read a sports page now and then.)

These three are part of Snakkle.com's Heisman winners yearbook photo collection. Others in the group include Jay Berwanger, the very first Heisman winner way back in 1935; Eric Crouch (2001); Jim Plunkett (1970); and many others from Heisman legend. Click the link for more, and look below to find the identity of the three lads above.

Yeah, Spurrier looks a little different without the visor (and a scowl). He attended Science High School in Johnson City, Tenn. before winning a Heisman with the Florida Gators in 1966. He now coaches South Carolina. Tim Tebow played for Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. before winning his own Heisman for Florida in 2007. He is currently the most famous benchwarmer in New York Jets history. And Desmond Howard, who once performed the Heisman pose in the end zone after a touchdown against Ohio State, began his journey to his 1991 Michigan Heisman at St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After playing NFL ball, he now serves as an ESPN college football analyst on College GameDay.
