So I've seen these planes with intense seemingly permanent contrails create a cloudy sky on a sunny day, then the next day it would be hazy.
Then I've watched other planes (on the same day) at varying altitudes leave little contrails, some of them last for a few seconds and some contrails last for 30 to 40 seconds.
I was wondering if you can have patches of humid air that contrails would form in (and then dissipate over several hours creating a haze) and they could be next to patches of air that are dry and the ice crystals dissipate almost immediately.
Is there a certain altitude where contrails would form and not evaporate?
I've seen a couple of these long, long contrails in old movies dating back to the late 70's, so I'm having a hard time believing this is some new world order scheme.
