my friends 6 year old son keeps having crying/screaming fits that last up to 2hours! When he's at school it happens out the blue, he'll be fine one minute and in a state the next. When asked whats wrong he just replies with things like 'i dont want to get in trouble' or 'dont tell my mum'
It happens occasionally at home too and he will then say the same to his mum.. 'i dont want to get in trouble don't tell dad' etc.
I've been good friends with the family for years and i know there is no abuse or strict rules..etc.
The teachers say he is perfectly well behaved and has friends at school and cant see any reason why he starts screaming.
He may be insecure as he is always asking questions like 'where are you going, how long for, when will you be back, what are you doing' etc.
Is this normal? Has anyone else had the same problem with a child?
We have taken him to the doctor and has been referred to a psychiatrist but we have to wait a month.
So would really appreciate if anyone has a clue what could be wrong with him? We are very worried.
He gets extremely worked up & hysterical for no apparent reason?!...
