If they wanted the change, yes. The problem is that now we have a society where people would be pressured into it when they don't necessarily want to change their sexuality, they just want the prejudice to stop. Imagine if there had been a voluntary procedure to change black people into white people when racial prejudice was at its worst - how many would have taken the procedure while hating having to do it, simply to improve their life?
@Reconstitute America. Your claim is based on...what? Physical differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals have been observed, or are you claiming that differences in inner ear structure between lesbians and heterosexual women and differences in in utero hormone exposure are "emotional and psychological compounded by environmental abuses such as abuse, parental absence, or rejection"? The blank slate idea has been thoroughly discredited, and it has been found that any behavioral trait is inheritable.
