I find Malachi 4:2 to be a very interesting passage of Scripture.
It says, "But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings..."
What is so interesting about this passage is it's phrase "healing in his wings." This passage is describing the Messiah, as it clearly speaks to Israel about the Sun of righteousness coming on behalf of those who fear God's name. But the Hebrew word here translated ''wings" is the word, "???" or, transliterated, "kanaph."
Now, we find in the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke a story of a woman who had an issue of blood for many years, and the doctors could never seem to get her better. She heard the claims of Christ being the Messiah, so she decided to test for herself. Touch the edge of the garment; for the Messiah is to have healing in his wings. We read in Matthew 9:20-22:
"And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
"For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
"But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour."
She determined that, if Jesus were the Messiah, she would find healing in his wings (garment's hem/corner). So she touched it. She received her healing.
Now, the Jews of that day were no idiots. They knew the prophets backwards and forwards, and were well aware of Malachi's prophecy concerning the Messiah. They also were well aware of what Malachi meant by "kanaph." They could easily put 2 and 2 together.
Furthermore, if this event did not take place, then the truth would have come out soon after the gospels were published, so that this lie could be squelched. But the fact is that people witnessed this event, so it could not be contested. It was painfully clear that Christ had healing in the hem of His garment.
No I don't accept Talmudism as a parent religion. Jesus was not a Talmudist after all. There is no such thing as Judaism since the destruction of the temple in 70 ad.
