Dec 5, 2011 #2 Reuben New member Joined May 14, 2008 Messages 16 Reaction score 0 Points 1 The proper specs for that head unit are at http://au.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainment/Visual_n_Navigation_Systems/DDX4038 They show that the head unit does indeed have 2x pre-outs @ 4volts each, but, it also states that it has 50watts x4 for your normal speakers. So, to answer your question, no you will not need an amplifier to run your speakers! It will have the normal connections to wire your speakers into.
