COD 4 Multiplayer Questions? (Newbie to COD)?

Hi I just wanted to know

a. what are those things that people stick in the ground? what do they do?
b. Do you get extra points like ive seen people get in black ops such as like payback or avenger?
c. Do you get all the weapons in the first place or as you level up? Does this also apply to perks?

Also, about question B, this works in COD 4 not just Black Ops right? Because i have not seen those things that pop up when you kill someone that say headshot or avenger etc. in COD 4
 
bouncing bettys or claymores are what gos in the ground and blows you up when you walk past which flak jacket will prevent that,also you get weapons has you rank up
 
-Claymores are trip mine explosives, that's what people put on the ground.
-There are many bonuses, like headshots,payback,avenger,assisted suicide(my favorite :), assist, afterlife, double kill, triple kill, and multi-kill.
-You have to level up to unlock some weapons and perks, in Black Ops you have to buy them as well with COD points.
-Prestige is when you reset from the max level back to 1. Only prestige if you get bored or you want to unlock more emblems,titles,extra classes, and stuff.
-Try combat training in Black Ops, it'll get you used to the multiplayer play style.
