I use a company laptop at home, I'm pretty certain nearly 100% of my web surfing is company/job related, I'm not positive if I've clicked on a video link or something from email. Rumor has it that they are 'cracking-down' on web surfing, which is fine, but it got me wondering what they are able to see. I use our VPN for email into Outlook, but use the local link for internet explorer. I am able to remote to a company desktop, access files, programs and the internet through that desktop--but rarely do. I can also access Outlook Webmail only when I'm connected to their server. One folder in web outlook is for Sync Issues and that includes conflicts, local failures and server failures. Currently the folder is empty.
When using internet explorer or firefox locally, can the company track my web activity when I'm connected to the VPN? Can they track when I'm NOT connected to the VPN? I have Trendmicro Officescan Roaming installed, and I've done spyware scans recently.
Thanks for the help! I can't imagine they'd find any fault in the sites I've accessed--especially if they look at the times as I have used it for shopping or questions after my work hours, but I thought I better check.
