I keep hearing that Obama's inaugural echoes both Lincoln's and Kennedy's? How are they similar?
aww gees this was a serious question don't get ur panties in a bunch repubs... anywho... someone educated please answer! 10pts!
its really annoying how these republicans that have answered refuse to look past their asses and rhetorically asses the speeches... i want my 5 points back...
Thanks gracie but i meant in respect to their inaugural speeches.
Thank you latest answerers but i meant in regard to rhetoric how are they similar not similarities between the men themselves
Why do most answerers seem to entertain the idea of Obama being assassinated? Frankly I dont give a rat's butt cheeks if he does or doesn't, he's neither friend or foe of mine. This has just served to intensify my dislike for conservative extremist bigots with NRA memberships. gees...

there is still one BIG difference between the first two and osama....1 BIG diff....& kennedy was Catholic, not moslem...lincoln killed more of his countrymen that any other President in history...why would osama want to be like him?...nope...there is only 1 big diff that stands out now...and there is NO similarity in their speeches other than a desire to lie to Americans

They aren't. The media is just in love with him. His inauguration was quite boring actually. Annoying too. I had to switch over to Fox News so I didn't have to listen to ABC worshipping him.

Obama and Lincoln-

-Both reached political prominence in Illinois
-Both took a train to inauguration
-Both served eight years in the Illinois legislature
-Both were criticized for being too inexperienced to run the country
-Both were raised by women other than their mothers
-They used the same bible for the swearing-in ceremony
-Both rode to national prominence based on their speaking abilities
-Both wrote best-selling books before becoming president
-Both men selected political rivals to serve on there cabinets
-Neither have any personal military experience
-Both were tall and lanky
-Both were lawyers before entering politics
-Both were relatively young when they took office
-Both were elected to the US congress

Those are only a few. Email me if you are interested in any more similarities between Obama and Lincoln.

Both Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Obama are from Ill.
Kennedy and Obama were young when elected to the Presidency.
Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Kennedy wanted and expected the people to do things for them self and not have the government do it all.
Mr. Kennedy's speech said " Ask not what your government can do for you but rather what you can do for your country."
I heard President Obama when he spoke after he took office and nothing of what he said is anything like that of JFK.
I heard JFK's speech when he gave it as a young man and was very impressed by it.
Reading a few of Mr. Lincoln's speeches I was impressed as well.

Echoes fade with distance and time.
Therefore, the only comparison that could possibly be made is that the United States held an inaugural for a newly elected president and alot of tax dollars was wasted in the name of it.

Please note that nobody said Abe or John were going to pay their rent once they were elected. Conversely, neither JFK and Lincoln were Marxists.

JFK and Lincoln were both pretty good presidents, to compare Obby to them is EXTREMELY premature, not to mention 2 of them were assassinated. You don't wish that on Obby do you?
