Computer Monitor says no signal, please help and read my description?

I have an emachines, W2828, okay it froze up and its done this a couple of times and then either shuts off on its own or i shut it off via the power button. Well I tried to turn it back on and the monitor says NO SIGNAL. I used the monitor on another computer so it works. I removed that battery on the mother board and didnt change a thing. Can any one give me a detailed description on what is wrong and how to fix it?
