copying DVD to computer?

I already used handbrake and then DVD43 for that but when I was about to put subtitles using Media Subtitler, it won't work. I can't even open the file even if it's converted to .avi. I don't know why

Are there any other softwares for copying DVD to computer? and then add subtitles?
