I'm going on a cruise in about a week. I just noticed my passport has expired on dec 08. How long would it take to make a new one. And could ii still go with an expired passport?

No, that's illegal.
You need to immediately go renew your passport.
It takes a couple months to get a new one, but they give you a receipt that's just as good as having a passport.

Take the receipt and the old passport or you won't be able to go

Nope, an expired passport is not valid so it is pretty much just like not having a passport at all.

You can get passports expedited for an Additional fee. Call TODAY as this is a holiday weekend and the office will be closed on monday.

No. An expired passport is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

You can go and get your new passport expedited (rush order), I think it costs a little more. And yes, you can still go on the cruise, you just won't be able to get off the ship in a foreign country.
