What would you do, and how often would you use it, if you had the power to completely heal someone else of their illness no matter what it be, like cancer or leukemia or anything else, but at the cost of half your current lifespan.

How would you react to finding out someone had that power?

I'm creating a list of characters and traits and such I want to include in some short stories/books I wish to write soon. This one is going to be a fantasy/science fiction story. I have some of it lined out, I'm just looking for traits, and just ideas on how people would use this or react to seeing someone use it. How would you react if you found out someone could do this. I have a few ideas already but I need a bit more before I try to create him/her. I'm looking into adding a bit more detail to the power such as maybe being able to take the lifespans of others and adding it to his own at some price. I haven't figured out all what i want to do with it just yet. But your replies to the question I state above would be greatly appreciated

Right now, I'm looking into the character maybe visiting hospital's and/or the elderly in the hospital, and maybe asking for permission to take the rest of their lifespan and adding it to his/her, or something of the sort. I haven't decided whether I want it to be a male or female yet or evil or good. But I'm somewhat getting tired of all this evil and good crap lately, so thinking of maybe someone who is completely neutral and just keeps balance... but that feels like it'd make it dull so I haven't made a decision yet.
I like criticism and I dont take it harshly. I asked on here knowing I'd get some harsh answers. And no, I don't plan on just making him healing, but he isn't the main character either, but possibly a friend or something of the main character, but I like to get development of the characters early so that I know how to include flashbacks of their past, what to do, etc. I'm just looking at some help on his ability so far though. The ability sounds cool but it feels like its missing something and I haven't figured it out yet

Oh and thanks to 1st commentor I think it was. I'll look into using that as well in the future

I have a good way of creating story characters. Fill out each section in order:
Gender:
Age:
Figure:
Specific features:
Personality:
What they aspire to be:
What is in their way:
(1-2) Flaws:
Other:
Name:

i'd say having neutral characters is utterly tedious. The reason people include good and evil for a reason is to make their book more intersting.

What;s your character going to do. okay - go around and cure people and that's all? Visits hospitals - "oh my you are sick, let me cure you!"

I mean if you are going to write a book you have to make it intersting to the reader.
i know my comment sounds a bit too harsh, but i mean good writers take comments into consideration to make their story better right?

well good luck with your story.
