Crossing double and double double yellow lines in carpool?

okay since the drivers handbook can't, can anyone tell me if it's legal to cross one double yellow line of carpool lanes in LA county? Obviously you can't cross the double double ones, but it would be pretty ridiculous to not be able to cross the single ones. And yes you have scabies- deal with it. Thanks!
 
Scabies notwithstanding, you cannot cross any double yellow line anywhere in LA--including in the carpool lane. You have to wait until the double-yellow gives way to dotted lines, usually before major exits and exchanges. Cross anywhere else--into or out of the lane--and you can get a ticket.
