40*“And in the time of [the] end the king of the south will engage with him in a pushing, and against him the king of the north will storm with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships; and he will certainly enter into the lands and flood over and pass through. 41*He will also actually enter into the land of the Decoration, and there will be many [lands] that will be made to stumble. But these are the ones that will escape out of his hand, E?dom and Mo?ab and the main part of the sons of Am?mon. 42*And he will keep thrusting out his hand against the lands; and as regards the land of Egypt, she will not prove to be an escapee. 43*And he will actually rule over the hidden treasures of the gold and the silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt. And the Lib?y·ans and the E·thi·o?pi·ans will be at his steps.

44*“But there will be reports that will disturb him, out of the sunrising and out of the north, and he will certainly go forth in a great rage in order to annihilate and to devote many to destruction. 45*And he will plant his palatial tents between [the] grand sea and the holy mountain of Decoration; and he will have to come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him.

12 “And during that time Mi?cha·el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book. 2*And there will be many of those asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up, these to indefinitely lasting life and those to reproaches [and] to indefinitely lasting abhorrence.

It goes right into Jesus christs rein and the resurrection after this passage so we know it is speaking of the time we are now living in. wouldn't the war be taking all the money it says over the hidden treasures? The land of decoration is Isreal and the South of them would be Afganistan and north would be Iran or in times past called Persia. So what is that verse saying?

Afghanistan is not south of Israel, and the Bible doesn't say that it is south of Israel.

These Scriptures are certainly going to happen in the future.

You have misinterpreted these vague verses. None of that is describing what is going on today.

The land of decoration would be Israel, the grand sea is the Mediterranee sea, out of the sunrising would be east of there. Then you would have to get a map and go what is North of there.
I believe you are right the hidden treasures would be the money spent on wars.
Since when the angel Michael shows up it is a time of distress? I would say that means there is a war going on in that area.

So when has there been a war in that area? Almost constantly since the beginning of time.
Or is the grand sea the Atlantic? Since it speaks of many ships? Maybe the land of decoration is now the USA?

44 there are reports that will disturb him out of the North which from there would be Iraq?
Also Babylon is mentioned which is in Iraq. Or maybe Iran? Reminds to be seen I guess.

This prohecy of Daniel's is about the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD. The event is also known as the "great and terrible day of the Lord."

This is biblical and historical FACT

Joe 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp [is] very great: for [he is] strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD [is] great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

There will be a flood of Demonic Forces that possess earth, while growing stronger daily. See Mary K. Baxters 40 year old book "A Divine Revelation of Hell" online or its 4$ at amazon.

the dream about the statue is explain in the same book of Daniel al the empires and named by their own names,,after that it gets divide in 10 independent powers (10 unions) , yes those are the last "empires" of the earth, meaning there will be no more empire made by men. The next is the rock hitting the feet,,,(Christ)

"with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships"

That sounds like it was a pretty long time ago !

Okay this is talking about the end times for Israel, Let's start with chapter eleven verse one. This is set in first year of Darius the Mede (ruler of Persia) Three more kings appear in Persia then a fourth that stirs up trouble against Greece (so we have our time frame) Then a mighty king will appear (verse 11:3 is clearly talking about Alexander the great, he rules with great power and does as he pleases but upon his death his kingdom is not given to his descendants. His kingdom was given over to four tetrachs, the king of the south is the first of the Ptolemies, that is Ptolemy I (Soter) of Egypt (vs 5). The commander who becomes stronger (also vs 5) is his commander Seleucus I Nicator, he annexed kingdoms to the east and west, so most of this chapter now is about the on-going battle to and fro between the kings of the South (the Ptolemy dynasty) and the kings of the North (Seleucid dynasty). Okay now we have the historical setting (between 300BCE ish with Alexander the Great leading up to the reign of Antiochus IV Epiphanes (175-164 BCE).

Now the king who exalts himself seems to be talking about Antiochus IV who did indeed set up statues of himself, opposed the Holy Covenant and caused serious strife however as the chapter progresses it becomes increasingly difficult to fit these verses into the historical setting of Antiochus IV. Some people then jump to the conclusion that these are prophecies concerning futuristic events without regard for the 2000 year interval. It is more likely that our inability to place these verses 40ff into the same historical context as the surrounding verses is more testimony to our poverty of historical knowledge than the likelihood that the prophet should suddenly and without warning skip more than 2000 years. It seems stranger still that the author would suddenly jump back 2000 years later on in chapter 12 and talk again about the persecutions of Antiochus IV, (note between 168 and 164BCE Antiochus ordered an end to the sacrifices, Daniel 12:8 mentions 1290 days (that's a little over 3 1/2 years) which fits nicely into the period 168 to 164BCE. It is therefore my contention that the whole of Daniel 11-12 are talking about the end of the times of Israel's submission to foreign powers leading up to the Maccabean revolt and Jewish independence.

We are getting really close to the end times. Right before the antichrist comes there will be the rapture followed by the great tribulation when the antichrist rules the world. It will be a frightening time. Nothing good will ever come out of the mideast as long as the muslim/islam belief system holds its people in terror.
