So I met this guy online a few months ago. Right away I knew I really liked him. We emailed for a while and then started texting. We finally planned to meet up, and it was the best first date I had ever been on. We went to a baseball game and had a drink or two. There was no awkward silence or that feeling that you couldn't wait for it to end. We just really clicked. There was the small issue that he lived in Indiana and I in Ohio (an hour away)... Also, his job had him staying in Mississippi for two months and he could only come back every other weekend... but I figured he was worth it. I couldn't wait for our second date. For the second we had planned to go to a comedy club but unforseen circumstances made that out of the question. So we went to a movie instead. Not the best way to get to know someone better but I still had butterflies the whole time. After the date, I texted him that I had a great time and he wrote back that meeting me made his having to go back to work in MS the next day that much harder. I was smitten :)

After that second date, I wouldn't be able to see him for 6 weeks, and by the time that time had come around (this past weekend), I was so nervous, I could hardly stand it. Between the second and third dates, we had spoken via text almost every day (we didn't talk so much on the phone because of the long distance). I was anxious for the third date because I wanted to make sure that spark was still there. We planned to go to dinner and then a comedy club since we hadn't gotten to do that the time before.

So the date... He picked me up and during the car ride to the restaurant, he told me that after he was finished in Mississippi at the beginning of December, his job was sending him straight to Tennessee for ANOTHER TWO MONTHS. I was pretty devastated to hear this. He told me that since it was closer, he could probably come home every weekend. He also told me that he wants to start looking for a new job (in the city where I live - coincidence, not because I live there) after the 1st of the year because he's fed up with traveling for work. (But...he recently moved into a house...so I'm not sure how easy that will be.)

Anyway, we had a drink at a nearby bar after we put in our reservation. After dinner, we realized we weren't going to make the 8:00 comedy show, but there was another at 10:30, so we had a few more drinks at another bar. After the comedy show, he drove me home. The date was, again, amazing. We talked the whole time... this time, about more personal things. Overall, I felt really good about it. He parked his car outside my apartment and walked me in. Then, before he left, he leaned in and gave me a kiss... not too long, not too short. It was the perfect first kiss, in my opinion. Then he said good night and left.

I was dying to hear from him, but I couldn't wait any longer, so I texted him the next night and just told him I had a really fun time with him again. He wrote back and said "I had a good time too. I wish we could get together more..." I wrote back about how his job sucked and then he asked me what I was doing that night. By the time he sent that, it was already 11 p.m., and I fell asleep before he sent it. I woke up the next day and wrote back that I was sorry I didn't respond and that I didn't end up doing anything and asked what he ended up doing. No reply. After not hearing from him all day, I texted him later that night (yesterday) about a show I thought he should watch that was on. No reply.

I keep going over and over the date in my head and I'm going crazy trying to figure out if maybe he didn't think the date was as good as I did. When he wrote "I had a good time too. I wish we could get together more..." was he just being polite? Or does this mean he really wishes we could see each other more often? Would he have even bothered saying that if he didn't mean it? Do you think he's doing the cold shoulder thing that guys do when they don't want to keep seeing the girl or is it more likely that there's a good explanation for the silence? He did tell me on our date how crappy his phone is and that he wants a new one...maybe phone problems? Or am I making excuses?

Bottom line: Do you think he meant what he said in his text? And if I continue to get nothing but silence, when should I cut my losses and move on? Should I make any more attempts?

I just like this guy so much. I know it's early on...and I'm not usually one of these girls. But I want it to work so much. The thought that my dream guy might have decided I'm not the one for him is crushing. I just thought I would get some third party opinions. Any help is greatly appreciated. 10 points to the most helpful answer, thanks :)

Also - My company's Christmas party is mid-December and we're supposed to say if we're inviting someone by the end of this week. I was planning on invi
