I am really into Greek Mythology, and just realized that I can't recall a single story where Ares raped anyone... do you know if there is any record that he did? PS: I know they're just myths, but I'm really interested to know
Just wanted to say to Camille, that in Greek Mythology, rape was a common theme. So many gods raped mortal men and women, but I'd never heard of Ares raping anyone. And I've been in love with Greek Mythology for years!

If I can recall, he didn't exactly rape anyone but he had a child with a woman which bore twins, whose names were Remus and Romulus who were the founders of Rome.

No. Ares killed people who tried to rape women:

"Agraulos [daughter of Kekrops king of Athens] and Ares had a daughter Alkippe. As Halirrhothios, son of Poseidon and a nymphe named Eurtye, was trying to rape Alkippe, Ares caught him at it and slew him. Poseidon had Ares tried on the Areopagos with the twelve gods presiding. Ares was acquitted." (Apollodorus, The Library 3.180)

He did have a lot of extramarital sex, though.

I think one answer is that he did not have a history of rape like most other Greek gods because he was in love with Aphrodite ...
The other one is that he did not have many temples, so his priests had not much of an opportunity to rape in his name, as some scholars think was the case with the other god's staff. (seems like gods always had trouble with their employees)

And it is not certain MARS (not Ares) raped Rea Silvia, just that they had twins together. Of course it would be called rape by some, because the Romans could not have a Vestal Virgin being concubiscent, could they?

yep. remus and romulus were Rhea's offspring after his rape.
